Getting infatuated with someone that you won't really ever have a long-term relationship with can be a huge distractor and ultimately a waste of time.
(But then again, who is to say if there is long-term potential or not, i.e. how could you know at that time? And it would not be a waste if important life lessons are learned from the experience.)
One thing is clear - I seem to have the tendency to be easily infatuated and that can cloud my judgment. Thank God my head has cleared up from a week of infatuitis - just in time for the task ahead.
