When Gift > Giver

Idolatry. We all do it. Whether it's money or a significant other or whatever else, that temptation to break the first & second commandments is always there. Why else would it have been emphasized as the first & second of ten?

The more I think about it, the more I understand how easy it must have been for Abraham to love Isaac so much that he lost sight of the One who gave his son in the first place (from Genesis 22). Whether it's praying for a potential future wife/relationship or doting on your children, it's important to keep perspective and not let your appreciation of the gift go overboard.
