Quest for Perfection

The Pats are now officially 16-0*. Their quest for a perfect regular season is now fulfilled. Good for them. As much as I despise the Pats for their arrogance and just being an evil empire of football, I love how Randy Moss got a second chance - both for the season (coming off a horrible season with the inept Raiders) and in today's game when Brady threw that record breaking 65 yard in the fourth quarter on a repeat-play (Moss had just dropped what should have been an undroppable pass). It is a reflection of what redemption looks like.

But going back to the question of perfection: it made me question - as we yearn for sanctification, how much (to what degree) can we expect that to reach perfection. I know we won't actually reach perfection until death do us part. And yes, we should continue to strive for excellence and righteousness, even with our faults and continued tendencies to sin. But the imperfections of now that seem to take up so much of my mental attention - of past and current sins, of broken relationships.... how much of that can I just accept as part of the process of going from hopeless sinner to redeemed and improving sinner and how much of that do I need to really repent of and be freed of?
