You learn new things about yourself every day. For me, I think I've learned more about myself in the past 4 or 5 years than I've ever before.
One thing that I've noticed, after living with 3 other guys (we moved to a 4BR house recently), is that I can be a perfectionist when it comes to keeping things clean, especially the kitchen. I hate it when people just leave dishes unrinsed when it only takes like an extra 5 seconds to do so (to me, it's just common courtesy for whoever does dishes or loads the dishwasher) or when you leave food crumbs or rice (which hardens) littered across the counter top or when you cook something and not clean up the mess. It irks me to think that grown men would not be responsible enough to take care of these things but I guess some people are just more "laid back" (i.e. lazy) about it than others.
M-O looking at WALL-E with disdain for his lack of cleanliness
So like the character in WALL-E (the Pixar movie), I have been cleaning after some of my roommates (not all are dirty... but the ones who make the mess are extremely good at what they do) in almost OCD fashion like the M-O robot. This is one reason why I might move out to a studio next year or go back to living with just one other person (who is as clean or cleaner than I am so that I don't have to stress over uncleanliness), because 4 guys can add a lot of stress for someone like me who likes to keep things clean. This is also why I should get married soon... females tend to be more strict/sensible than guys about this topic.

Me, too! Especially having my own place, you want everything to be nice and clean. But I'm still oh so lazy at home. =\
Careful not to be passive aggressive though. You should probably vocal your concerns to them and let them know of your expectations. And plus, this is good training for when you're forced to live with the family you raise. :)
