The Luckiest Unluckiest Day

I got up around 11am today. I checked all the late night show tapings and lo and behold, there was a rare opening with the Daily Show! So I quickly acted and got my reservation for the standby (which everyone gets) and slowly made my way out towards the studio. I got to the studio around 2:30pm. The recommended time to get there was between 3:30pm and 4pm, with doors opening at 5:15pm.

Oddly, the line was already a block and a half long. Later that night I would find out that the recommended time had moved up from 3:30pm to 2pm but I had no idea of knowing with no internet on my phone (maybe that's the one reason iPhones are convenient and useful... to see if standby reservations were changed).

Anyways, so I wait for like an hour and a half in line, standing the whole time, of course. Then they start handing out numbers... and I end up being the first person they turn away (so the people in front of me were the last people to get seats). Thankfully my reaction was just "oh well" because I was on vacation (if I had not been and had scheduled this in, I would have been livid).

But talk about the unluckiest luckiest day. Haha. =)
